What Services Do We Offer?
We can offer a straightforward chemical or biological analysis or more of a problem solving one. It may include pre-test advice (for example agreeing a programme of testing, advice on sampling procedures and identifying possible problems) and after-test advice (which may include advising on courses of action, advising on applicable legislation and suggesting future methods of monitoring.)

We also participate in activities to support public health and safety for example, the Public Analysts give talks and we undertake research projects.

The laboratories are managed at all levels to achieve and maintain a high standard of professionalism and quality in all aspects of the work and service.
As part of ISO/IEC 17025 quality accreditation we participate in FAPAS Aquacheck and NETCEN proficiency testing.
Supporting regional and national work
We play an active part in regional and national associations relating to public protection and health and safety including TSEM (Trading Standards East Midlands), CenTSA (Central England Trading Standards Authority) , LACORS (Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services), the APA (Association of Public Analysts) and the RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry).

Leicestershire and Staffordshire Scientific Services is an efficient and reliable scientific service offering testing and analysis, advice and support to customers in the public and private sector.
We have four Public Analysts, thirty-five well-qualified, experienced staff and two laboratories, based in Leicester and Stafford, accredited to UKAS Quality Standard ISO/IEC 17025 which are both Official Food Enforcement Laboratories
